THE FIRST

THE FIRST

They lived like royalty while we suffered like slaves. I got to work, sweeping the floors. The task was exhausting, and the pain in my feet flared up again. I sighed, glancing at the massive bed. Without thinking, I threw myself onto it. The softness enveloped me, and for a fleeting moment, I felt a bit of peace. My long, curly black hair tumbled out of its bun, spreading across the bed like a dark halo. I probably looked ridiculous, but I didn’t care. It was the first comfort I’d felt in days.

There are so few views, now that Goodnovel provided me a platform, but I am more than happy to continue this story and perhaps, make it my first completed novel. So now allow me to talk about the novel itself. I have talked to my editor about it and I came to know that my first few chapters are quite odd. The beginning chapter itself barely had any conversation. Well… To be honest, it can’t be helped since I wrote it on my first attempt in writing. I have no background. No experience. I read. I read. I read a ton. I was very smug about my memory since I could remember all sorts of details from hundreds of chapters back.

Quite the unique story in this website. I have read until chapter 50, it's a nice fantasy that is also like just a slice of life, at times heavy, at times just like a breath of fresh air. Only problem is the expensive chapters. Good work though.

Elian said. "She already is," Dante said. "The second translation is bigger," Elian said. "She told me. A Brazilian writer, a full novel, a publisher in London who found the first book and came to her directly." He paused. "She didn't come to them. They came to her." "Yes," Dante said. "Because the first book is that good." Elian looked at the book on the table. "She found us through the novel," he said. "Yes," Dante said.

Thank you so much for reading this novel to the end. This is my first completed English novel, and I am very happy to put it on GoodNovel and received such a positive response. Sorry if there are some cultures, city names, and also the use of inappropriate words because the original novel is actually from Bahasa Indonesia. If there are criticisms and suggestions, I really appreciate them because they are good for improving my writing in the future. So, feel free to leave your comments, reviews, criticisms. I would be very grateful for that.

And Nina didn't know why her chest was throbbing so violently, she also lost her attention to what she was reading and remembered her last conversation with Argus. But she also immediately erased the suspicion that started building her system and she would still trust Argus no matter what. Soleil's eyes dropped to the book on her lap, and her eyebrows met. "The Moon Goddess and the wolf." Soleil reads the title of the book she is reading. "I didn't know you were fond of that kind of genre, miss Nina." "And guess what, Soleil. The name of the characters here is also familiar. Did you know that the name of the guy here is Hawthorne?"

Bitter Marriage: The Missing Gleam in Their Eyes

“It's okay, I also just walked straight, didn't look to the right or left.” “It's Jane Eyre.” Diana couldn't help herself when she saw the cover of one of the books on the front in her arms. “I also have one at home.” “Oh yeah?” the woman glanced at her book and smiled shyly. “I was on vacation in Bandung and purposely bought a lot of books as a friend of my boredom. From the synopsis at the back of the book, it seems like an interesting book.” “It is very interesting. This is a romance book from old English literary writings, first published in 1847 and the love story still survives today.” Diana rolled her eyes. “When Charlotte Brontte published it that year, it generated a lot of controve

Thanks to everyone for walking with me through this story. I never thought of writing a novel but after putting down some nasty fantasy I had in mind, in writing, I was like hey, this could be a story and I did it. Thank you all. The reads and votes kept me going and I appreciate them a lot. Even with English not being my first language and knowing it is not without mistakes, you still read it. Also, with this being my first book, I grateful with the number of reads and votes so far.

The Alpha's Chosen One

The Alpha's Chosen One

It could easily have been a school or a boarding school. Nathan's scent was in that hallway, so he assumed there must be something hidden there, but all he saw was an office. She went in, closing the door behind her. That place was the best place she had ever seen in her whole life, full of books and a lot of handwriting. She picked up the first book she found, and it was one of her favorites, only this was a first edition. She sat down on the nearest sofa and swung her legs up. The story takes place in rural England in the early 19th century.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve always been fascinated by the origins of storytelling, and while pinning down the *first* novel is tricky, many scholars point to 'The Tale of Genji' by Murasaki Shikibu as a strong contender. Written in the early 11th century Japan, it’s a sprawling masterpiece about courtly life, love, and politics. What blows my mind is how modern it feels—full of complex characters and emotional depth, like a historical drama but with poetic beauty. Some argue older works like Apuleius’ 'The Golden Ass' or even ancient epics could qualify, but 'Genji' feels like the first true novel because of its focus on interiority and relationships. It’s wild to think how much storytelling has evolved since then, yet the core of human connection remains the same.
