*************** CHAPTER 27 ~Damon’s POV~ The drive back to the estate was anything but smooth, even though the road stretched out like a ribbon under the early morning sun. My hands tightened around the steering wheel, frustration bubbling in me as Mars prowled in the back of my mind. “Two of Luca’s men,” he snarled, his anger intertwining with mine. “They won’t dare step foot on my territory again,” I muttered aloud, though no one could hear me.

"There are more important things than fucking, you know?” I made a low sound of disagreement, although I smiled. "The only thing better than sex is eating, and fucking is also eating, only in a less literal sense.” Hazz laughed out loud, and so did I. "Ah, but I never thought that way. The sin of gluttony does not exist in my body. I've always considered my body as a temple.” “Are you evangelical? "I asked softly.

"Gluttony is a difficult habit to break once the metabolism slows." Lanka didn't argue. He went into the kitchen, piled a plate high, and ate under the burning heat of her gaze back at the table. If he hadn't been famished, the sheer malice in her eyes would have choked him. "What is her deal?" Lanka asked later.

He had to hand it to the old bat for her efforts, as annoying as they were. In the end, Lexus’s father, Masaru, had taken over the task of feeding the unreasonable alpha, much to his mother’s begrudging acceptance. Lexus was glad for it; he was damn tired of slicing his tongue to bits to rid himself of the foul aftertaste of others’ blood. Or that time he’d just taken a page out of Rin’s book and not fucking eaten for a month.

Wasn’t this cheating? I tried to think of thousand reasons to put him above other husbands’ flaws so that I wouldn’t feel bad. And it worked! Most of the men drink alcohol, Zed didn’t. Some husbands were overly jealous, Zed trusted me fully. Others had vices, Zed didn’t have any. “Mia, can you check Zed’s blood sugar first?” I asked the doctor’s secretary as soon as we went inside Dr. Seno’s clinic. We sat at the waiting area just across the secretary’s desk.

Her heart was filled with guilt. Prior to this, she would keep overeating during meals so that she would gain more weight. She thought that Sean would dislike her if she had gotten fat. However, she would finally be free soon, so she should not be overeating anymore. Eli ended up only eating a piece of steak. She had learned from Natalie to chew her food slowly, pairing it with red wine to increase her body's metabolism. Natalie smiled at her, lowered her head and continued to eat. Feeling a shadow approaching, she looked up subconsciously and saw Frederick Addington.

No need to risk it by trying. I have learnt that even though there isn't any being I can trust right now, the system is one I can. Trust because all this time it functioned to benefit me although sometimes it can be a pain too. I made up my mind to go hunting monsters, not any monsters though. I will look for the stronger monsters that will benefit me. after all I want to make every use of the gluttony skill to become stronger.

“This is who we serve?” “Shut the fuck up, Pride,” Wrath barked. “Gluttony, help him.” Gluttony dragged his feet forward lazily. Ashiel pulled a dagger, but Gluttony raised his hands. “Relax. I don’t bite… unless you ask.” Cris signaled Ashiel to lower the blade. Gluttony pressed a heavy hand against my chest, and energy surged into me. My body steadied, the burning in my veins cooling. “I’m giving you a taste of strength,” Gluttony muttered. “Sloth could drain the poison out completely, but he’s asleep. He could kill her if he broke a chain.

“I wouldn’t be talking about his ability to eat if I were you. You fooled me, Gianna Gomez. I thought you were this rare breed of great cook who ate like a bird and not like a water buffalo. Turns out, you can eat more than several grown men, and that is not something I expected from someone as slim as you.” “That’ll teach you not to judge something only with your eyes.” Gianna let her gaze slip closed, ready to sleep. “But I eat a lot because I’m hungry a lot.
