He extended his hand, and another man handed him a black rifle.
The leader released Mason’s shirt, stepped back, checked the magazine with a metallic click, and cocked the gun. He aimed it directly at Mason’s stomach.
“Like I said,” he continued, “I don’t want your money. And besides… these things you stole? I can sell them for more than anything you would offer.”
Mason sighed, exhausted by the mess. “You found your drugs. Can’t you just let me go since you don’t want my money?” he asked, voice flat, genuinely wondering what they truly wanted.
