Toby tried to explain but i could still hear Alpha Flynn’s low growl. Suddenly i heard bones cracking. Did he just change into his wolf form or something? Inside the freaking house? I quickly opened the door and walked outside. I found Toby, still in his human form, and Alpha Flynn, already changed into a big dark grey wolf. The frames on the wall are all on the floor, cracked. He obviously is bigger than any other wolf that I have ever seen. Even bigger than Toby's wolf form. "Mitzy, get inside your room right now!" Toby yelled, covering me with his arms.

I did not give them time to regroup. I opened my core and released the cold. Not the absolute zero I had used in the garden, but controlled and really precise. One by one, they froze, their bodies locked in mid-stride, their amber eyes still burning with terror. The largest fox, the silver-streaked one, struggled against its prison. I walked toward it, my footsteps silent on the ice.

After they all had dinner, Felix and Mercedes excused themselves to go on their run as planned. While they were in the garden, Felix asked Mercedes to go for a run in wolf form. She was reluctant at first since she only transformed once under duress, but Felix convinced her that he would show her how to do it. So she agreed and that is what they were going to do. Felix grabbed an overnight backpack with blankets and some snacks. Mercedes was confused as to what it was for and Felix told her that they would not return until morning. She was still not aware of where they would spend the night, but she just went along with it since he seemed to already have everything planned out.
