You can sense if darkness is nearby so he can speak with you without worry.” Aura was quiet for a moment; she stared up at the sky frowning. “Who is this man?” She asked, still not looking at either of us. “His name is Xander,” Selene answered. “We don’t know where he is from or who he’s trying to protect. He won’t tell us anything. But I think it might be able to shed some light on how to save my daughter.” Aura glanced down at her and to my utter surprise, she floated to the ground. She was a bit shorter than us and when she looked up at Selene, I saw the serenity in her eyes.

Aurora’s phone buzzed beside her, bringing her out of her thought. Eventually, she could not stand it anymore and sent the photo to Aura, along with a message, [Do you know this guy? [Didn’t I tell you not to contact me?] Aura replied somewhat impatiently, even before the photo was successfully sent out. After a moment, she finally received the photo and quickly typed a response, [Where did you meet him? This man…] Aura sneered on the other side of the phone and replied, [This man is probably Luna’s greatest fear.]

“Until it affected you.” That landed. Her gaze didn’t soften. “And now,” she continued, “it has affected me as well.” Fenrir’s jaw tightened again, but this time he didn’t argue, because he couldn’t. Aurelia shifted slightly, the movement small but enough to remind him that she was not as unaffected as she appeared. “Whatever this is,” she said, “our bodies are bonded together, and this cannot happen again.” Fenrir’s gaze remained on her, more focused now than it had been since he entered.
