A grin spreads across her face—private, giddy.

The kitchen is already alive: Seras at the counter, hair in twin buns again, humming as she packs two identical bentos—tamagoyaki spirals, teriyaki chicken, onigiri with salmon, edamame, pickled veggies, strawberries arranged in little hearts.
