“Just a heads up, everyone,” Felix said, his tone casual but carrying an undercurrent of importance. “The full moon is in three nights. We should start prepping the perimeter and the basement.”
The phrase ‘full moon’ landed in the room with the weight of a stone. The easy chatter died down instantly. Nate stopped eating, his fork hovering halfway to his mouth. He looked around at the others, who were now exchanging looks of focused readiness, then back at Felix, his confusion evident.
