As I went on to think about upcoming events, to try to help draw my attention to something else, I went on to think about what happened during a full moon. On every third month, my pack would host a Moon High Muster. That was a celebration lasting for five days and only during the full moon. So it was never on the same days as the moon followed its own course across the lights in the darkened sky. On the third day of the celebration, when the moon was at its fullest, we welcomed the newest members into the various packs that came to join us during the celebration. Currently, the following month was when the next Moon High Muster

But tonight, the valley was drenched in an unnatural, terrifying twilight. High above, the crescent moon was no longer silver. A slow, creeping shadow had begun to eat away at its edge, bleeding a deep, bruised crimson light across the sky. The stars had faded into an ominous slate-grey, and the wind had died down to a breathless, suffocating silence. The cosmic clock had struck its final hour. The Blood Eclipse was here.
