“I think the aprons are there. Come on, let’s go.” On one side there was a wooden hanger rack stand where there were many aprons of the same black color and size. I took one and it was before my knee. I took another hanger and showed it to Brianna. “Can I wear this to you?” She shook her head. “I have a hair clip. I laughed quietly to myself, knowing I’d feel ridiculous wearing it. The hot water was a welcome relief, and I lingered for a few moments, letting it wash away the day’s stress. Once I was dried off and ready, I slipped the apron over my head, tying it securely. Catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I shook my head with a smirk. "If the roles were reversed, I’d enjoy this," I muttered before heading back out. The bedroom was empty, so I made my way to the kitchen. That being done, I took the plates to a table where the workers could grab and join a cue for their lunch. The two other workers, another girl and a guy who were with Elsie when I came in, returned from wherever it was they went.
