Lyra stumbled against me but she didn't fight it, she trusted the reaction and that meant enough had happened this past weeks for her to realize that I wasn't joking. The face smiled as shadows moved between the shelves and the person on the other side leaned forward slightly with amusement on his face. “Woah” he said casually, lifting up his hands in surrender. “Easy there, I mean no harm. Really”

Instead of calming Tubby, he became more scared. "KYAAAAA! He will definitely eat me!" Tubby shrieked while running around on the sleeping Erella. Aunt Camille and Max chuckled at his reaction. Fafnir felt a little irritation with the commotion Tubby was making. So he went to the bed and caught Tubby. " The little fox won't eat you but I will if you will not keep your mouth shut." Fafnir threatened Tubby. Tubby suddenly shut his mouth with his two hands and silently cried.

"I was so surprised when you told me you were hanging out with your friends, but it's good to know that you found some. I can assume you can see their colors, right?" I nodded my head in response. "School has been fun. It's a lot more lively than I expected." "I'm happy to hear that. You should bring your friends here once in a while." She offered, then smiled. "I'd like to meet them too." Suddenly, the colors around her started changing. Her warm colors were replaced with just random colors. Honestly, it looked like it was her normal colors. "A-Aunt Autumn, your colors!" I exclaimed. "What's wrong, Black?" She replied.

Amberjill said and they moved, no long the capital was in sight, it was just like the mercury tower but this one was shaped like a cube, a large cube, no doors or window just large plain metal cube. They walked towards it and it stood there with no chance of accessing it “What now?” Amberjill asked “Roxanne you are the fire” he said, Roxanne walked close to the cube, touched it and it felt smooth, after touching it trying to find a hidden button or soft spot like in the box, she gave up “I have no idea how to access this thing, it’s impossible, there are no doors or codes or anything, maybe it’s not what you think it is” she said

They ate the food in silence. After eating, they moved to the living room debating on which movie to watch. "Let's watch Lion King" nafisa suggested . "And why? "Khadija questioned. "Do I look like a baby to you "she added. Nafisa dropped the topic of watching cartoons before her cousin would take it far, they decided on watching The Meg which nafisa found weird . She doesn't like action or romantic movies, she would rather watch cartoon for the rest of her life. The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes.

I wandered through the aisles, running my fingers along the spines, feeling a sense of belonging I hadn't felt in a long time. I spent the whole day there, completely lost among the books, reading story after story until I lost track of time. One book caught my attention "The Adventures of Sir Flufftail" a ridiculous but absolutely hilarious story about a brave and very dramatic rabbit knight who went on quests to save stolen carrot cakes from mischievous squirrels.

Just looking at the first paragraph was enough to make my eyes bleed. She mumbled and groaned and came back with a much smaller book with a bigger meaning. Archibald Frisby is a book about a kid who likes science, but whose mother wants him to make 'real' friends and do kid shit. This kid. I read her bullshit story, which she fell asleep halfway through, but I got the gist. My scary ass kid is setting down the gauntlet. I brushed her hair back and kissed her brow. Knowing that even though we didn't have the talk, she'd gone to sleep knowing her daddy was here.

“I was a pup once, alone. I know how that feels. Here, you won’t have to be.” A small cluster of pups peeked from behind their parents, wide-eyed and curious. Lyra knelt down, allowing them to approach her cautiously. She told them a story, weaving it like a fairy tale, about a brave little wolf who faced challenges alone but found a safe home among friends. The youngest, barely six, pressed close, tail wagging, and Lyra felt a pang of something she hadn’t experienced in years: hope that the next generation would be spared the loneliness she had known.
