Futa Farm Novels & Stories

I muttered, opening the first email. The farm requested four new milk cows, a replacement bull, and an expansion of the southern pasture. They’d also put in a separate proposal about baby chicks and a test run with ducks. "Zyan, you think we can handle ducks?" "Only if we get to chase them occasionally," he replied, his tone dry. I chuckled. The vision of him—massive, dark-furred and proud—chasing a trail of squawking ducklings made me snort. I signed the requisition for the cows and bull but tabled the ducks for now. One thing at a time.

We laughed, and he fist bumped me, almost knocking me down. "How was your journey like?" Laura asked, and I was curious too. "Hmm.. Let’s go inside and talk; besides Derek, where is your fiancée?" "That’s good; at least you won’t have to worry about getting hurt, since Athena is so good with herbs, you lucky fellow." He teased me this time. "Let’s go in; we need to talk." I gave him a small smile first before I returned my gaze to the surroundings. I just enjoyed the fresh air while Sir Franco started driving the golf cart. I was really amazed at the whole view of the farm. This farm is twice the size of our school. I saw a lot of crops just like corn, pineapple, rice, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and many more. And they also have so many banana and mango trees here. There are also nipa houses here that I think are the resting area of the workers. Everywhere I looked, I could see healthy plants and healthy trees here.

"I don't know sir I only helped her pack her things that day, she hardly said a word or two then... So unlike her. She left no message nor words of goodbye." "Sir I'll have to start preparing the dish soon or else I'd be late for my post-UTME lessons." "You're about to enter the Uni?" Jason questioned surprised. With a nod Sabina confirmed. "That's nice and what program are you up for?." "Food science and technology" she smiled. "To improve your cooking skills right. Are you Zara or Sabina? Which one of them" he rubbed his evident stubble, embarrassed at the fact that he didn't know her name while they had a heart-to-heart discussion.

--- While Patrícia rested on the porch after breakfast, Augusto took his phone from his pocket and typed a quick message to his assistant: “What’s the best place in Brazil to have a farm?” The reply came in less than a minute: “Based on my knowledge, sir, the best place would be Goiânia. Fertile land, favorable climate, and good agribusiness infrastructure.” Augusto smiled thoughtfully. His eyes drifted to the fruit-filled orchard he was beginning to love. Then he typed another message: “Great. Start looking for land there. I want something with plenty of space, fruit trees, natural springs, and potential for farming and raising animals.”

My hair ruffled in the breeze and I was tempted to let go of Luxe's fur and stretch my arms to either side of me. We hurtled past the trees, his paws barely making a sound on the hard-packed dirt, until as abruptly as he started, he stopped. It was a clearing, large and so perfectly circular, it looked man-made. A waterfall seemed to materialize out of nowhere, it's waters spilling into a small pool surrounded with bits of greenery. A large, checkered picnic blanket had been spread just to the side of the pool and a basket sat on it. Slowly, I slid down Luxe's back, and he disappeared into the trees, appearing a few minutes later as Lucas, wearing another pair of slim-fitting jeans and a but
