The rest of the gifts disappeared in a blur—Logan’s hand-carved wolf figurines, Alex’s tiny bow and arrow set (This is a terrible idea, I muttered, but no one listened), Luna Hannah’s soft knitted blanket in shades of blue and gray, Alpha Xavier’s silver wolf pendant ("For when he’s older," he said, pride gleaming in his eyes), and Beta Kas’s collection of classic storybooks. By the end, the living room looked like a battlefield—wrapping paper strewn everywhere, ribbons tangled around chair legs, and Xavier giggling madly as he draped Luna Hannah’s blanket over his shoulders like a cape, brandishing his sword like a tiny warrior.
