Just wait until they see the one you’ve got coming.” She leaned into Noah’s chest, enjoying just being there, cradled by his arm. “Have you seen the new game, Maya?” Josh asked, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “I haven’t. What’s it about?” “Oh, it is amazing,” Josh gushed. “It’s called Shifter Warrior.” She nodded, glancing at Noah from the corner of her eye. “Let me guess. Does the warrior change into animals?” “A panther!” Josh exclaimed. “How frickin’ cool is that?”

And yet… she couldn’t forget the way his lips had felt, the way her body had betrayed he and--Damn it! Her phone buzzed again. ‘Keep going, honey. Remember all he’s done to you and never forget that your revenge is a must.’ Amira swallowed hard, her pulse hammering in her ears. Three months left. That was all the time she had to play this dangerous game. She turned the phone face down in her lap, forcing her expression into something neutral. The men were still talking about alliances, threats, and all things money-related but their voices blurred in her ears. All she could hear was the echo of Alessandro’s words.

Jodie frowned, she took it and looked up at Castro, who had a dark face, ¨ What is in here?¨ She asked and he grunted. ¨It's the video they were going to play next¨. He said and Jodie furrowed her brows. She immediately stuffed the disk into the laptop and clicked it play, the contents of the video almost toppled her from her seat.

He was a key piece, one that needed to be carefully maneuvered, or removed altogether. The figure watched as the man’s car disappeared around a corner, then turned away from the window, moving to a desk cluttered with documents, maps, and a laptop. They sat down and began typing, their fingers moving swiftly over the keys. Each keystroke was a calculated move in the intricate chess game they were playing—a game where every player was a potential pawn or a threat.

I drift off to sleep on the plane on the way back to Texas, only to awaken after having a very vivid dream or maybe I should say fantasy of Drake. I pour myself a drink and try to relax. I decided to change clothes and freshen up, just in case Drake met me at the airfield. Silly how I have to remind myself this is all just a game. I catch myself wanting him, wanting to please him, wanting to give myself to him. I have to remember that I want to hurt him, make him regret how he treated me. No wonder they make so much money. I slip my bra off, breathing in relief as soon as it hits the ground. I turn on the TV and feed the cats, then sink down on the couch with my phone in hand. Dad texted me during dinner, asking how I was feeling. I reply to him and search through N*****x for something to watch. I’m dozing off when my phone rings. It’s still on silent from dinner, and it takes me a minute to locate it under the blanket I’m snuggled up in. It doesn’t help that Neville’s fat butt is laying on top of it.
