In a split second, Caleb disappeared, leaving just a trail of lightning sparks as he reached one of the gargoyle leaders!

Its head tilted slightly too far when it moved, as if bones didn’t matter anymore. And its eyes… They were not animal eyes. They were human. Completely human. A man’s eyes. Empty. Hollow. Fixed directly on me. Another stepped beside it. Then another. Then more. Too many. All standing in silence. Not attacking. Not growling. Just watching. Like they had been waiting a very long time. My throat tightened painfully. “They’re not attacking,” I whispered without thinking. Gabriel didn’t answer immediately. His grip on my arm tightened slightly.

I nodded. "Your wish is my command, my Queen. I'll take my blindfold now," I warned everybody else, and touched the knot Sohan made before then began to unmake it. Folding it and putting it on my lap, I blinked, getting used to the light again. I heard lots of gasps, probably because most people here have never seen my eyes, they must be mesmerized.

I sighed shacking my head getting ready to depart knowing that we should be there soon, but I felt someone a strong urge to look up. When I did, my chocolate eyes connected back to a pair of indigo eyes, the same gargoyle I saw at the bus stop. I turned my head to the side to see him closer than before, squinting my eyes to see the creature better. He smirked as he did show his fangs, in surprised I jumped my eyes were wide open making him slowly go back to his frown. He probably noticed my jump. Felling bad I mouth out “pardon” as an apology only to get the smirk back.

Thankfully, the café was nearly empty, and no one had noticed her spasms. Willow felt as if she were going to retch. Her fingers grasped the edge of the table as the breaths racked her body. Garin tentatively laid a hand on her back but she jerked away, moving faster than he could see. His hand hovered awkwardly in the air between them. When she looked up at him, he drew back again with a sharp intake of breath. "Your eyes," he stammered. While still yellow, they were changed. They weren't the eyes of a human. They were now the eyes of a wolf, wary and predatory.

Goosebumps spread across my skin as I remember the predatory look on their wolfish eyes. Xavier, with silver eyes had turned full pitch-black, I remember clearly. The creature resembled neither a human nor a ghost. The Violet Rain Bird’s expression turned grim, its massive body trembling. “Be careful, Master Adrian. This is a Human Ghoul.” A Human Ghoul was a humanoid monster classified as a type of daemonic beast. Its sharp fangs and black eyes presented a truly frightening sight. As the creature growled, Adrian's gaze turned icy. “You really think you’re something?” He charged at the beast.

I froze, not quite sure what to do as my hand went instinctively to my stomach. The other man already had his hand around Clarence's throat. It was then I noticed that they were both more than human, but not vampires. Their eyes were bright blue, and vampires' eyes are green and, from the way this man was handling Clarence, they also had super-human strength. I waited, confused. "You, dear sir, are coming with us," he said, looking directly into Clarence's eyes.

replied Gerald though his focus had been on the paintings on the cave walls this entire time. From what he could see, the paintings on the walls were extremely old. Ancient, even. After briefly scanning through them, Gerald soon found himself raising a slight brow. The things he saw on the walls were… weird, to say the least. For one, one of the paintings depicted a winged humanoid figure. As if that wasn’t already odd enough, the person even had three eyes!
