For one to appear meant something ancient was shifting.
“Bring her,” Aria said, already pulling her coat tighter.
They met near the training circle. Children scattered, the crowd parting as Freja stepped into view. She was tall, wrapped in white and blue furs, her braids threaded with ice beads. Her eyes were deep, glacier-blue, and steady.
“Luna Aria. Alpha Xander,” she said, voice cool but clear. “I bring greetings from the Winterborn—and a warning.”
“You’re welcome here,” Aria replied, nodding. “What brings you so far south?”
