It had all our rare moments together over the last three years. There was footage of Blake patiently training me under the moonlight, our first hunting trip when he protected me, and the first time he gave me a birthday gift. When I thought of all that and as I watched what was supposed to be my farewell turn into their celebration, my chest ached. I wondered if Blake even remembered that this was the last event I would ever plan for the pack. Trisha, on the other hand, called Trixie, as she had promised before, she would call the lady as often as she found time, and today as she was preparing to leave Denny's house to visit her mom, she was on the phone with Trixie. Her body trembled.

“You think you’re clever, don’t you? Let’s see how clever you are when Damon realizes you’re not worth the trouble.” I took a step closer and lowered my voice. “You’ve been hanging around Damon long enough to know he doesn’t waste time on things that aren’t worth it. So maybe you should take a long, hard look in the mirror. Perhaps then, you'd know better.” For a moment, Trisha looked genuinely shocked, but she quickly masked it with a haughty glare. “Enjoy it while it lasts,” she hissed before storming off. As she disappeared, Xander clapped a hand on my shoulder. “Now that was impressive. Damon’s going to love hearing about this.”

I lay back flat on my bed as my legs could no longer support me. I looked at Shanine with great satisfaction. It seemed this pretty young lady had fallen for me. I was truly blessed. Soon, Kerrigan found out about our encounter. She warned Shanine not to take me all for herself, but Shanine wouldn't listen. She still came to see me. Eventually, both of them reached a tacit agreement. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, it would be Shanine's turn, and Kerrigan could have me on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Sundays were for me to get properly rested.

“Morning.” Ava murmured a shaky greeting, her voice barely steady. Tristan’s warm and knowing gaze lingered on her for too long. Xander saw the tiny spark of thrill when Tristan appeared. A subtle softening in her expression. Like she’d been holding her breath and didn’t realize until he walked in. It ripped right through him. “We have to meet the High Edge clients this morning, are you ready for that?” Tristan asked, gently nudging her away from Xander's side.
