His fingers traced lazy patterns on her skin, soothing and grounding her.
She turned to face him, her heart still racing, her body humming with the aftershocks of his touch. “What are we?” she whispered, her fingers brushing lightly against his jawline. She needed to know. They may have confessed, but until they talked about what it truly meant for them, it all felt so uncertain, so fragile.
“You are mine, and I am yours. That’s all that matters,” he said softly, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. “Just in case this isn’t clear, you are my girlfriend, and I am your boyfriend.”
