I looked down at the stack of books on the table, my fingers brushing across their covers. My hand paused on a novel about love, identity and societal expectations. This book will give them a glimpse of what I passed through during my absence. I smiled softly. “How about this one?” Brent groaned. “Oh no, not another depressing tragedy. Can’t we read something with a hopeful romance?”

"We're sorry, Alpha King. We were too shallow and ignorant to recognize our future Luna Queen! We beg her to forgive our oversight!" They put their hands together as if in prayer and practically groveled at my feet as they begged, "Ms. Leah, we're sorry to have offended you! Please forgive us. You can punish us however you like; just please spare us!" I didn't feel any satisfaction seeing them begging me for mercy, only burning hatred. I sneered at them. "What would you have done if Fenryr hadn't gotten here in time and I wasn't his fiancée? Would you still apologize to me and beg me for forgiveness now?"
