WHISPERS OF A HIDDEN HEART
“I know everything, Jessica. I know how your relationship with that famous man began. Wasn’t he one of your fans? It all started because of your books, didn’t it? Tell me, if you weren’t who you are now, do you really think he’d still love you?”
“Yes, he was my fan,” Jessica admitted, her voice steady yet trembling at the edges, “but he got to know me first before anything else. His intentions were never bad. Jerome is a good man, Mom. He’s genuine. He’s not the kind who hurts or deceives women.”
“Go on, leave. You’re only wasting your time here,” Marta said coldly. “Go back to your noisy life in New York. I’m not coming with you.”
