Novel & Cerita Grandparent Stories

"Okay, calm down kids, I am going to tell you a story of how our revered Master, Lucifer saved our late grandfather's life from perishing in the woods. Are you listening?" "Yes mom." They chorused again, "I can't wait to hear the story again, I love that story and I don't mind being told about it a hundred times! The most beautiful part of the story is that it was grandfather and grandmother that told us what they experienced. I am supposed you know what it means to hear a story from the horse's mouth." Zack smiled and sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for his mother to begin the story. "Who wants to hear my story?" Diana announced.

Then, everything fades. Darkness envelopes me. “Gramps, can you tell me a story?” I sit on the wooden patio stairs, a warm mug cupped in my hands. The stars glitter above us, and the breeze carries the scent of flowers and earth. These nights were rituals with my grandparents. Quiet, gentle moments. Safe moments. “Sure thing, kid,” Grandpa says, his voice gruff with affection. “Hmm... I wonder which story I should tell?” He pauses dramatically. “I know, how about the legend of the Moonborns?”

I was certain that he understood from the look that I gave him that I’d never lie for him like that again. “Well, then, it’s a good thing that I rode Roger,” I said as I emphasized the words so that he’d listen and read between the lines. “I just got my grandfather back. I’d hate to lose him so soon.” “Two-thousand years is a long time to live,” my grandfather said in a jovial tone. “It has to end sometime.” “But, not now and not on the back of a wild beast!” my grandmother scolded. “Pure fairies can live well into their teens and you know it.”

She had always been the perfect life partner for his son but he couldn't see it until now. “No, mumma. I won't trouble, grandpa,” Arien peeked her tiny head out through the blanket which made everyone smile at her. “You better not and take care of your grandpa,” Ariella uttered to her little girl which made her nod and then she immediately placed her head on her grandpa's lap. “Now, mumma go. Grandpa will tell me a new story,” she said, eager to hear another story from her grandpa because her grandpa told her the best stories.

She shared something that made me stop hugging her and face her. "Are you telling the truth, Mom? But I thought those kinds of stories were not true. That they were just stories made up of our descendants." I commented. "She is. They did not make up the stories. That's the truth. We are supposed to share it from generation to generation. Still, since it's been a long time since your Mom and I decided not to tell you about it," Grandma explained. "We live in a modern era and thought they did not exist already. I also do not think we still have that blood running through our veins. My grandparents did not end up with wolves. They decided to stop it and got married to normal people."

"Are you really single? I saw you leaving with an older guy before this." "That was my dad's friend," I said quickly. "My parents passed away early, so Uncle Grant raised me. The other guys are just his friends." Someone else snorted, unwilling to let it go. "She grew up around a bunch of old men. How clean could she be? Don't be fooled, Jack. You won't even know whose kid you're raising if you started cherishing someone who's a carousel." Jack's face darkened in an instant, as though I had already cheated on him, and his hand on me tightened.

"You slut! What dirty deals did you make for this funeral? You're not worthy of being my fiancée." He raised his hand to slap me, but a strong grip stopped him. A stern middle-aged man pushed him aside and helped me up. "A grown man hitting a woman? Have some shame." Joseph hurried over, whispering, "Charlotte, this is General Soto." Tears spilled out of me before I could stop them, sudden and violent, like someone clinging to a last scrap of hope. "General," I cried, "they won't let me bury my grandpa. They even put a dog in his grave to humiliate him."

"I’m heading back to New York in three days. I need to start moving forward." Mom pulled me into a side hug, her arm tight around my shoulders. "We will hate seeing you go so soon, but I know you’re ready. You’ve always been tougher than you look." "I had good teachers," I whispered. We spent the rest of the afternoon eating and talking. There was no more talk of lawyers or scandals. Instead, Grandma told stories about how I used to hide my toothbrush behind the radiator to avoid chores, and Mom talked about her old college days before life got complicated. Each story felt like a brick being laid down to build a new floor beneath my feet.

Samantha was so excited that she began to imagine this exact scene. 'I'm sure we’ll have many grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. At that time, they’ll surround us, begging their grandfather to tell him stories from his past.' Adrian laughed when he heard this. "I'd have some many stories for them I’d never finish. I wonder where I should start… How about I start from the time I married you after their great-grandfather passed away?" Samantha chuckled. She bent down and buried her face in Adrian’s chest. He gently stroked her smooth and lush long hair.

For a while, I allowed myself to simply exist in that moment. To feel normal. To feel like I belonged. Later, after we had finished eating, something crossed my mind. A story Grandma had once told me resurfaced, something she said Grandpa Leandro would explain in detail someday. I hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Uhm… I just want to ask something, Grandpa, Grandma.” They both looked at me, giving me their full attention. “Is it true… what Grandma told me before? That Grandpa took you away from your wedding?”
