His dark, repulsive eyes bore into mine with sickening satisfaction, as if he couldn’t be happier about this vile situation.

The bedroom was empty too. I stood in the center of her room, my wolf raging beneath my skin. Someone had kidnapped her. My hands curled into fists so tight my nails bit into my palms. The rage that flooded through me was white-hot and all-consuming. My vision tinged red at the edges. My wolf clawed at my ribs, demanding to shift, to hunt, and to tear apart whoever had done this
