The Green Drawing Room is quieter than I expected it to be. Pale winter light filters through tall windows, breaking apart on the thick clouds beyond before pooling in uneven patches across the intricate rug beneath our feet. Every shade of green imaginable lies woven into the fabric—moss and jade, seafoam and deep olive—colors rich enough to speak of distant lands and conquered artisans.

A soft, emerald-green light pulsed from her fingertips, sinking deep into the root system of the courtyard. Instantly, the earth responded. Thick, vibrant green vines shot up from the dirt between two massive, ancient oak trees nearby. They moved with unnatural, liquid grace, weaving and twisting over themselves in mid-air until they formed a stunning, perfectly suspended vine hammock. The broad leaves overlapped to create a soft, cushioned bed that swayed gently in the breeze.

I wanted to see it with my own eyes, on my own terms. The messenger was right. From the top of the hill, I could see it. Green. Lush. A rich, vibrant green that hasn’t touched this part of our territory in nearly half a year. The trees, dead and blackened only days ago, now shimmered with fresh, pale leaves. Grass peeked through the soil. Wildflowers dotted the earth like forgotten dreams coming back to life. The scent of decay had faded, replaced by the clean, rich fragrance of growth. I couldn’t speak for a long time.

, he grumbled. Bartimaeus hummed, "I couldn't say. Most leaders shine red, and the gifted lot that masters it in six months usually shine with a soft silver color", he hummed, "Anyway, your grandmother shined a distinct Dark Green color, it's not a bad color, but the connotations of the color usually belong to ambition, greed, jealousy. The lighter color that's not clouded with Darkness, means, growth, wellness, fertility, safety and harmony", he explained. "The darkness, what color is that?" Sasha asked curiously. "Black?" he asked pointing out the obvious.

I’m about to use Emerald’s eyes again when a vision overwhelms me. ** I see Alpha Everly’s eyes glow menacingly. They are now a glowing iridescent white, incredibly spooky. Light swirls around her as she brings vines up from the ground. There are creatures with red eyes surrounding her, pressed to kill. The creatures are pitch black, twisted and evil. While they fear her light, they are charged with one motivation: snuff out the light. She can’t do this alone. She needs help. I see a pair of hazel eyes before me. They close with finality. I see the same vision, but with a pair of bright blue eyes. There is a feeling of sorrow that washes over me.

“I saved my brother. I stopped the harvest.” ​“And you did a fine job of it,” Cassian said, a small, sad smile playing on his translucent lips. “But look at the horizon, Weaver. Look past the scrap heaps. Look past the mountains of the North where we once played as children.” ​I looked. In the far distance, where the sky met the jagged peaks of the Obsidian Grove, a new light was rising. It was not the gold of the sun or the silver of the moon. It was a sickly, pulsing green, like the glow of a rotting swamp or the bile of a dying beast. It was spreading across the horizon like an ink blot on parchment.

I was too absent minded to listen to their introductions. "Green is timeless, bold and very beautiful..." Just like my Eve. "It is the perfect color because it compliments every other color right there, it flatters almost all skin tones and would stand out when pictures are taken. Pretty sure, it would pop beautifully with the runway lighting. Lastly, green is associated with wealth, luxury, elegance..." And it reminds me of someone very close to my heart. I didn't add this part though... They would all think it was the reason I chose green which was the main reason anyways. "Ohh, you just literally changed my mind, Mr Gray." One said with a chuckle.

She raised it to their faces, trying to get them to understand and see for themselves. “If it were a faint green, that would indicate a small amount—one that isn’t easily recognizable. But it’s a very dark shade of green, and that’s a whole different color—one that signifies the quantity of the unhealthy and dangerous substance.” Freya was almost out of breath by the time she saw and understood everything. Her breath hitched in her throat, and her face had completely drained of its color. She almost fainted to the ground, but Orson’s hands were quick to grab her as she fell into them.
