I’m suddenly finding myself in the packhouse right outside of Wesely’s room. He sneers angrily at me. “You are weak, and have no place in this pack much less as my Luna. I, Wesley Steel, future Alpha of the Jade Pack, reject you, Avril West as my mate and Luna.” He shoves me to the ground, stunned. How could this be happening? Wasn’t my mate supposed to love and cherish me? I then see a pair of brown eyes looking at me lovingly. I feel warm. How do I know this color? I can see? I hear a voice. I can help you see. She says. I am Emerald, your wolf. You are special. I gasp in surprise.

Once behind Scarlet chambers closed doors, Emma began to pace about, chewing her fingers as her heartbeat intensified. “Do you think... Do you think he knows?” Scarlet asked after a while. She was fiddling with her fingers as beads of perspiration gathered on her forehead. “Know what?” Emma asked, scooting next to her with a raised brow. “That I am an omega.” She gulped, her lips pressed together into a thin line as her heart slammed violently against her chest. Emma’s face went pale at once. She opened her mouth to reply but before she could say a word, the door creaked open and Alpha Simone stepped in.

Emerald's father and brother are very alike, dark curly hair and fierce aura that would have most on their knees. King Orion spots me, with a big smile he comes to say hello with a friendly hand outstretched “King Vulcan, what a magnificent kingdom, thank you for having us” Orion says, every bit the good king he is. I take his hand “King Orion, so happy you all could make it, Emerald will be happy” He smiles, shaking my hand he walks us back to the small gathering of wolves who stand all smiles. I can see where Emerald gets her elegance, not only her mother but her father is a born leader.

The gemstones, carefully designed into exquisite cuts and shapes, glimmered like captured fragments of nature's most vibrant hues. At the center of the necklace, a large emerald pendant adorned with intricate engravings caught her attention. The stone, shaped like a big wolfberry, possessed a mesmerizing depth that seemed to draw in the surrounding light. Its rich green hues, ranging from the vibrant shades of new growth to the deep tones of ancient forests, held within them the promise of growth, renewal, and the enduring strength of love.

Took a slow breath. The emerald flared. Soft green light spilled between her fingers, bright enough to paint shadows on the walls. Magic hummed in the air—sharp, and cold, like winter wind. The glow pulsed once. Twice. Tiny threads of violet light snaked out from the stone, thin as spider silk. They twisted, reached toward the omega, then faded.

“Give me a moment. I have to lock up. I don’t remember the last time someone came in here cursed. These are sensitive topics.” Hera went around her shop, shutting windows and locking the front door. She ushered us through the beaded curtain into a smaller room with a square table. “I can tell by your aura that you’ve had certain difficulties which have come from the curse.” Emmie leaned back and sighed heavily. “Years of taunting and a small wolf. I’d say I’ve had some difficulties.” Hera gasped loudly, her eyes rounding and her mouth widening. “You’re an omega! Yes, I could feel that when you walked in.”

She glares at me, hurling a pan that strikes my chest and makes me stoop. "Really, who do you think you are speaking to? I am your future Luna, so stop talking, you omega!" Her voice was heard clearly. As the weakest members of the pack, omegas are more prone to injury, fatigue, and weakened immune systems than warriors, deltas, gamma, or betas. Being called omega should not feel insulting because of what she is referring to, but because of what she is referring to, it hurt me. The pain in my chest felt like something had broken in that frying pan.

“I’m very observant.” Silence. Then… Soren shook his head again. “You’re going to be a problem.” “I already am.” A knock sounded at the door. Soren stiffened. Then moved to open it. A servant entered. Bowed. “There is an order.” Soren’s expression tightened. “What order?” The servant hesitated. Then said carefully, “The Emperor requests the Omega’s presence.” Silence. I smiled slowly. “So soon?” Soren looked at me. Worried.

Liam can't find the right words, but I somehow understand how he feels right now. “If you may, m-ma'am Carina.” I start. She seems to remember that I'm there because she looks at me with a surprised look. Guess, she's getting too emotional. “You may have heard that your son has found his mate... but you probably haven't heard that I was previously an omega.” I say, smiling bitterly. If I felt ashamed that I was an omega before, somehow, I feel a sense of pride now. How could I have let myself to be so down over the fact that I was an omega? Sure, living life as one was hard, but I found strength in being one.
