Daniella glanced at my face, “Coffee?”
“Already had two.”
“Good. So we’re starting at medium-threat level, not maximum.”
I had just opened the folder when the sound of another car rolled into the small courtyard.
A black car stopped.
The door opened.
And because apparently the universe never knew when to quit, Sebastian stepped out in a black sweater and dark jeans.
It was unfair. Genuinely unfair.
The black cashmere fit him exactly the way it shouldn’t have. The sleeves were pushed back just slightly at the wrists, revealing a cold, expensive metal watch. The jeans were dark, simple in cut, and his leather boots were clean but clearly not fresh out of the box.
