My fingers balled into fists at my sides, and the hairs on the back of my neck pricked. Then he spoke loudly. Cruel, sharp, and loud. "I'm surprised they're accepting third-rate painters now." Conversational murmurs ceased. Everyone turned to face us. He was there when I turned. Sebastian. Wearing a sleek black suit, he stood across the room and stared at me with icy enjoyment. A sneer was on his lips, and a drink hung haphazardly from his fingers. I took a deep breath. "Excuse me?" I said, maintaining a steady tone.
