I sighed stretching my arms a little."I don't think she was referring to the party." I whispered, biting my lip.

I walked back to the chair and sank into it, dropping my head into my hands. “If I die trying,” I whispered, “then at least it won’t be for nothing.” “It will absolutely be for nothing,” Ragnar said bitterly. “Except I’ll be stuck watching you emotionally implode like a bad telenovela.” I couldn’t help the small chuckle that escaped me. “Then buckle up. You’re in for a long season.” “I swear to the stars, Asher… you’re going to be the death of me.” “You are me.” “Which makes this so much annoying and worse.”

“Second deal of the night.” Ash grinned, yawned again, and within seconds his eyes began to close.
