She knew she was almost caught. As the group got to the table, Gabe looked at her, “I’m sorry I tried.” “It is fine, Gabe. She just smiled at everyone. “Really, it is fine. I don’t mind not coming first in his life. He loves his job.”

I said with a crooked voice. A lump formed in my throat the moment I layed my eyes on them and tears welled up in my eyes but I fought it back. "Oh my God Nicole."
