“That wasn’t a ask, mate,” I say.
She looks at me, our eyes interfacing, and folds her wings once some time recently settling on my back so I can take a few of the effort off. Presently she can move the shield without having to too concentrate on flight. The feeling of her legs wrapped around me once more, and the information that I have her back, against all chances, powers me, and I battle through the torment as we speed for the Foundation, moving quicker than I ever thought we’d be able to. Anything to hold her in my arms once more, free from the haziness of this war.
