Harry Potter Book Spine Novels & Stories

“He’s troublesome.” I roll my eyes and hold the spine of a book titled ‘Dark Magic’ to pull it. “Why is it stuck?” I mutter, yanking the stubborn book spine, but it won’t budge. I throw my weight into it, only to hear a groaning sound from above. My eyes go wide in horror as the entire shelf seems to tilt forward.

Akira who was still trying to catch her breath raised her index finger, she caught her breath and replied, “that spell did not only reveal things about me.” The next bend they took brought them to the reading table where they met rune who was already seated with a large volume of books piled up before him in threes and fives. He was not happy with what he was seeing, “where's the books you went to get?” He asked. “Here…” Orion answered as he tossed the copy of Harry Potter he held to Rune. “theres no way that you're serious about this, a children's book?” He asked. “A children's book that is loved by adults….”

It's a relief to know that whatever is causing this affects him, too. I unbuckle the belt that holds the book covers closed and look at the first page. It is written in intelligible symbols. They are like some kind of runes. I bite my lip. Alex said that the book was sealed with magic and also said that the Sorceress's magic resides in my blood. Before I lose my nerve, I rummage through the drawers of the nightstand and find a box wich contains hundreds of colorful pins. In the movies, every time the protagonists faces a similar situation they take a carving knife and open a gigantic wound in the palm of their hands. Thank goodness this isn’t a movie.

Zavier cursed as he realized he couldn't touch the real book. "I probably should've warned you." I said as I swiped my hand one more time changing the contents to the original state. I looked up to Zaviers beyond burnt hand and swiped it better. The fake book changed from a black to a brown color with light writing. It was a book of temporary spells. The second book was the real forbidden spells book and it was black with very old writing and paper that was dingy. You could feel the power radiating off of it. Hidden behind a false image It didn't seem as powerful as in it's true form

I didn’t even tell Kael yet because I didn’t know if it was normal or if I was losing my mind. But tonight I felt it stronger like she was pushing slowly inside my head. We kept searching until Kael stopped by one of the older shelves at the back. It looked like no one touched it in years. Cobwebs everywhere and dust like thick powder. He reached for a book that looked different from the rest. It had a cracked red spine and a symbol on the front. Three circles touching in the middle. He rubbed the dust off and frowned. “This looks important” he said. He handed it to me because the cover was hard to open and I had smaller fingers. When I pulled it open the first page was so old it almost tore

she asked, eyeing the collapsing ceiling beams. “It’s here,” I replied calmly. She frowned. “How are we supposed to find anything in this mess?” I stepped further inside, my boots crunching over broken stone and brittle parchment. “The book isn’t ordinary,” I said. “Dark leather binding. Silver etchings along the spine. The symbol of the abyss burned into the front.” Ansel blinked. “That narrows it down to… one in a million.” I glanced at her over my shoulder. “Then start looking.”

“Oh my god! You got me the Harry Potter Series!” I rushed to the bookshelf and grabbed a copy of ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’. It was the only book I had read in the series and I had fallen in love with it. I had promised myself that I would buy more but I never got the money. “Yeah, girl,” she said smugly, “and I got you some others you might like…” I saw the other books and my jaw dropped. It was almost all the books on my reading wish list.

As I stepped out, my eyes caught sight of a book. 'Sorcery: The introduction' was what was printed in beautiful cursive on the spine of the book. I pulled it out of its place and two other books fell over where its position had been. Curiosity caused me to open the first page and I find the name of the coven there. "Welcome to the Ravens Den Coven", it said. My eyes skim through the things written on the page and I flip over to the next page. What I find there causes my heart to stop. It causes my whole world to almost fall apart.

My hand stops at the glass bubble and I avoid touching that part. There is a piece of gold string sticking out of the pages and I think it's a bookmarker. I turn to the marked page first. I'm curious to know what spell or enchantment was looked at last. The pages of the book are shiny and thicker than a normal page. It has a silver kind of tinge to them. I begin to examine the page that is marked with the gold string. It has a diagram of what looks to be the sun and all the planets around it.

I opened it and found myself entering a smaller version of the library downstairs. There was no swirling staircase going up, up, up, rather walls full of books, some of which were only accessible via the sliding ladder off to the side. With my stomach full and heart heavy, I waltzed over to one of the shelves and scanned them, intending to pick a book at random. One in particular drew my eye. The cover was made of dark leather, embossed with a swirling gold font that was a bit hard to read. Tendrils of flame, interwoven with threads of shadow, danced up the spine and around the back.
