I agreed softly before closing the distance between us, kissing her slowly, deliberately, giving her space to breathe between each press of my lips—until something smacked against the window.
I pulled back sharply, and we both turned toward the sound. Eleanor sat up first, but I reached the window before she could, yanking it open. One of Bernadette’s owls perched outside, its beak clamped around a letter.
“We’re supposed to be on break,” I groaned, plucking the letter from its grip.
Eleanor laughed. “Maybe she’s just sending greetings. She mentioned renewing her vows with Severus, remember?”
