The Heist of Hearts

The Heist of Hearts

She expertly appraised the contents of the room, taking stock of the treasures on display: Diamond-encrusted necklaces lay beside ancient scrolls, their yellowed parchment crackling with age, a Renaissance-era painting hung adjacent to a Buddhist monastery's intricately carved door and a gold-plated, gemstone-studded sarcophagus dominated the far wall, its lid slightly ajar lay amidst a lot of other treasures that most undisciplined thieves might have a hard time overlooking.

Gilded Hearts

Gilded Hearts

There were reporters snagging photos, all looking for their scandalous headline for the morning, and I certainly did not stop them. After all, what is the Golden-lucky Playboy for? The world is itching to see the golden boy; they, my world, needed that somewhere. But my perceived audience of admirers was not equally cheering across the ballroom. The farthest side of the ballroom near the windows stood my grandfather. Edward Hayes: silver hair, a crisp and sharp suit, eyes sharper and tight, not drinking, and definitely not smiling. He was with me tonight, but he didn’t need to drink to be seriously sober; he had the business of the Hayes Empire right there with him, and now out of retirement

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

The scene in front of them made everyone extremely shocked. Grand Pure Emperor's eyes flashed with cold light. He took a step forward and said, "The real gold is like a rainbow, endless cutting!" Every word sounded like hundreds of millions of pieces of metal colliding and weapons clashing. The countless arms behind him attacked again. Suddenly, the infinite world was broken. A tragic book slowly appeared in the broken void. The book was made of bamboo slips. Its surface was mottled, and blood oozed out of it. It emanated an incomparably brutal and murderous aura, as if it were the source of all the slaughter in the world.

What happened to the original writer of this book? The new writer is a far cry from the first one in terms of style, creativity, dialogue and story telling. He has turned a once very arresting story into a very boring one. It is sad.

A Bargain Of Hearts

A Bargain Of Hearts

“You must be very busy doing... whatever it is you do all day.” The next encounter was in the library. I’d gone there to escape her, thinking it was the one place she wouldn’t bother me. I was wrong. “Oh, I love this room,” she said as she walked in, trailing her fingers along the spines of the books. “Max and I used to spend hours in here. He has such a good eye for first editions, don’t you think?” I clenched my jaw, refusing to rise to the bait. She pulled a book off the shelf, flipping through it. “It’s funny, isn’t it? How life works out. You, an actress turned... well, whatever you are now. And me, still as close to Max as ever.”

Howling Hearts

Howling Hearts

“No my child, open your eyes like you are trying to see for the first time. Closing your eyes closes your sight within her mind and yours.” When I opened my eyes expecting to see her, I saw that I was stuck within a white hall with a few gold doors, red doors and black doors. “Good my child”, I heard her voice echo through the halls. I turned around trying to see her but she wasn’t there. “The gold ones represent her favorite memories. Red means her intimate ones and black means her dreadful ones”. I nodded my head and looked to the right where I saw a golden door. “Choose a memory for now and open it”.

Daggers In The Hearts: A Marriage For Revenge

Daggers In The Hearts: A Marriage For Revenge

Her mouth hung open, but no words came out. Olivia nodded, her smile growing brighter as she patted Julia’s shoulder. “I understand. You’re shocked...” Her voice remained calm and persuasive. “You might think we’re selling you off for money or fame, but trust me, that’s not it. You heard your uncle mention he crossed paths with the Fletchers, didn’t you?” Julia nodded, her mouth still hanging open in shock, betraying her mind that was racing with questions and her heart yearning to yell. Maybe her mouth wasn’t entirely a betrayal—it might just have known better not to ask, sensing that it could earn her a slap.

rotch and she was rewarded with pleasure so acute she ground against it some more. Rain groaned and touched his forehead to hers. Before he forgot, he took her left hand and pushed a ring onto her left ring finger. It was a combination of white and gold adorned with diamonds. Ami does not like pearls so even if pearl is their birthstone, Rain still chose diamonds. He kissed her finger after. Ami did not expect him to be traditional, gifting her with an egagement ring. She thought it only happens in movies. Her eyes went wide. “Ami, my Ami, you are so exquisite.” He claimed her mouth hungrily and slipped his tongue inside mimicking what he wanted to do to her. It is a black halter neck plunge silk dress. “Oh my goodness! This is so lovely. As she stood and twirled, Devlin could almost see her in a pageant. She must be very goddess-like back then. He knew she was a former city muse and he could see why she won. She has the height, the body, the beauty and the brain. “And I thought these could go with the dress as well. “ He handed her a small box. When she opened it, she was so surprised. Inside the box is a pair of round dangling white gold earrings with small diamonds.

The Games of the Heart

If anything, I’ll make him see that Santiago’s decision was the best one possible. I step out of the car, smoothing down my gold tulle dress. The intricate embroidery and beads stream vertically down the fabric, catching the light with every movement. Fringy éclats adorn the waistline and sleeves, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication. I feel like a golden goddess, ready to take on the world.

I loved this book. The grammar and English were great. I’ve partly read and quit several books on there that were literally unreadable. I got a little confused on Andrea’s family not knowing Stefano but it was explained later.
