“What will you declare? What shape shall the Pact take under your will?” Ari closed her eyes. Her heartbeat slowed. Then she spoke not from her throat, but from the soul that Mira, Saris, and the others had all helped shape. “The Pact is not law. It is language. It does not command. It asks. It does not bind. It bridges. It does not demand sacrifice. It recognizes it. The Pact must be like the forest diverse, wild, rooted in truth, reaching toward harmony. The Pact is not mine. It is ours. I said, my voice ringing with finality, “Crescent Moon and Haven Pack are bound by oath. When I call, you must answer.” Zion pressed his bleeding palm against mine, sealing the pact. “Agreed.” The room filled with the scent of iron and magic as the pact took hold. Zion leaned back, shaking out his hand with a satisfied grunt. “So,” he said, grinning. “When do we start planning?” I exhaled, my thoughts already racing. “Tomorrow. But first, I need to talk to Everly.” Zion chuckled. “Good luck with that.”

King Oliver announced. “Devil Pact?” Lily asked with a raised brow. “Yes. Now, Evander Maclay will tell you about the Devil pact,” King Oliver proclaimed. Beside King’s throne a man was standing who came forward. He was quite old with thick glasses over his eyes. “A Devil pact is an agreement between a human and a Devil in which the two have to keep with the terms. Failed to do so can result in the immediate death of the human if he/she breaks the pact and if the Devil breaks the pact then he/she will be sent to Hell and punished there,” Evander stated.
