I sighed, rubbing my temples. “Whoever this girl is, she seriously needs a stylist.” It was almost eight a.m. I needed to go out, but there was no way I’d be caught dead in these clothes.

His eyes darkened just a little. "Definitely get that one," he said, voice lower. I gathered a few things—the green dress, the blue one, a soft white linen shirt, and a pair of wide-leg trousers in a warm terracotta color I'd been eyeing for a while.
