CALI'S POV After I spent the rest of the night thinking about what to do , I finally made my decision. So here I was getting dressed to go to work. After I got I dressed in my black pencil skirt and coral chiffon shirt with black heels, I ordered my Uber and started my journey. I told myself that it wasn't because of Ares I was doing this but I knew deep down it was a lie. As much as it frightens me, I want to be his Luna because I'll never back down from a responsibility. I hate it when he’s like this. “Fine. What’s your question?” I say, crossing my arm “Do you have two mates?” Ares asks. My hands instinctively come to soothe my shoulders “What …do you mean?” I stutter Ares stands to his feet “You are a Hybrid Hermione, so perhaps, you have two mates?” He asks slowly “No… yes… I do not have to answer that.” I say, turning away from him. He grabs my arm swiftly and for a second, my breath hitched up.

I stole my childhood friend’s doll. Then, he called to complain. I listened to him wail as the doll sat in my hand, its texture somehow akin to that of human skin. Under its skirt was something remarkably female. This left me confused. ‘Is this doll female or male?’ Then, more importantly… ‘Did it come with both organs? Or is this modified?’ He sounded hysterical over the line. Surprised by this, I accidentally squished the doll’s limbs a little.

I twist my mouth, and my facial muscles relax as we share a moment of understanding. However, the unsettling feeling within me still lingers about my standing in Hermione's view. I feel like I can't compare to the history she shares with Xavier – years of friendship that have deepened their bond. Nevertheless, I'll continue to be persistent until she lets me in and accepts me as her partner. I grasp the door handle and step out of the restroom, granting Xavier the privacy he needs. As I head back to the bar area, Hermione intercepts me, her eyes blazing with simmering fury, her expression deathly calm. My step falters when I run into her, and my heart skips a beat.

Hunter’s right there beside her, smug as hell, and I intend to crush his throat. One good hit and I'll put this snake-ass motherfucker down and end him right fucking now. But the crowd is getting thicker around us and their cameras are flashing lights, capturing everything. I glance at Hermione. Her eyes are red, and her chest keeps jerking up and down like she just ran ten miles. She’s trying to look strong, but I know her. I know the way her chin sets when she’s lying to herself. She’s pretending she’s over me. Pretending I don’t matter.

He exclaimed with a dramatic eye roll. Hermione's grip on his arms was unyielding, preventing him from launching an attack on the other person. Despite his burning desire to retaliate, he was powerless due to Hermione's forceful intervention. His face twisted in disgust as he turned on his heel and strode away, Hermione at his side. Hermione whipped around to face us, her eyes shooting daggers piercing our souls. I can feel the weight of her evil intentions bearing down on me. It's as if a dark cloud of hostility hangs over her every move, signaling that something genuinely dreadful is on the horizon. Sensations are coursing through me.
