“Fine. I’ll tell you.” I brace myself for whatever twisted explanation he’s about to give, but nothing could have prepared me for the words that follow. “At first, I thought the Alpha King could never have a mate. I was furious when I found out you were mine.” My eyes widen in shock. This… this is why? He rejected me because he thought Alpha Kings were cursed. He really is a lunatic. “I won’t lie,” he continues, his tone casual like he’s discussing the weather. “I liked you at first. Genuinely. But you were too perfect for me, you can do anything so you started getting in my way.”

He asked coldly, his gruff voice sending jolts of electricity that rushed through me all the way to my core making it clench with an ache. "Zoe Chloe Anderson," I said but I couldn't read the expression on Mr grumpy. "I James Tyler Carter, Alpha of black mist pack, reject you Zoe Chloe Anderson as my mate and luna," he smirked but I furrowed my brow. "But... why?" I asked confused. "I don't need a mate. I'm fine on my own! I don't want some she-wolf up in my business!" He roared arrogantly and I flinched.

The beta shouts as he enters the hall. Occisor smells the air, the smell coming from the alpha is familiar to him, but he doesn't understand why. "I came to challenge the alpha," he says loudly and firmly. "What right do you think you have? You are a traitor!" he accuses him, making the anger grow inside Occisor. "I'm a rejected! I just did what they did to me!" he says. The beta shuts up, after all, that was a fact, the young man was hunted and rejected, after all. "I am part of this race, I have the right!"

"And what of my former mate? Alexander? Was that fate's mistake?" The name triggered a fresh wave of rage, images of the Silver Lake Beta flashing through my mind. Ares snarled. ‘He rejected what was precious.’ "He rejected you," I said flatly. "His mistake. My gain." Something flickered behind her eyes—pain that had nothing to do with her physical injuries. "So I'm just passed from one wolf to another, with no say in the matter." "You're the mate of the Alpha King now," I replied, allowing a hint of growl to enter my voice. "A considerable improvement, I would think."

But nothing prepared me for his next words. “I, Lucien Winston hereby banish you from this pack,” he declared, his voice carrying across the training grounds, sharp and absolute. “From this moment forward, you are no longer welcome here. If you return, you will be met with death.” I swallowed hard, the weight of his words settling over me like stone. The whispers of the crowd, the eyes of the warriors, everything faded. I drew in a slow breath and lifted my chin. My voice was quiet but steady. “I, Ava Night, accept banishment and reject Lucien Winston, as my Alpha.” I managed to say as everything went dark.

Maybe, just maybe things will be different now. Maybe I'll finally matter. Darius stares at me across the room, and I see the exact moment his expression shifts. The recognition dies. His features hardens and I could feel the temperature drop a few degrees. Those green eyes that had been wide with shock now narrow with something that looks like disgust. He takes a step forward, his voice carrying easily across the silent hall. "I, Darius Vaughan, Alpha of Blood Moon pack, reject you, Lyra Quinn, as my mate."

“A little birdie told me you lost a certain Omega. Are you really going to sit back after a mere Omega insulted your ego by rejecting you? How was that even possible?” I grit my teeth and tighten my free hand into a tight fist, my jaws clench as anger sears through me. “Alpha Rex commanded me to accept the rejection.” I hiss through gritted teeth. I couldn’t even defy his order. He’s not the King yet but he’s so damn powerful. “That’s not nice. Are you going to let a tyrant like him become the Alpha King? A villain who grabs other people’s mates?” “We have no choice. He was born into the title.” I reply through gnashing teeth.

Mikel said with a wide eye. “Mate? What the hell are they talking about?! How am I the mate to the Alpha King?! He is a fucking hybrid and I am a human! An object he detest the most in the world!” Kiara bantered internally. Her hands shook visibly, her heart beat accelerated and her head was banging like soldiers boots marching on solid grounds. Every eyes present in the room widened in shock. "This is impossible!" "The Alpha King can't be mated to a mere human!" Vins Bond repositioned himself as his eyes travelled over her body. Kiara couldn't comprehend what they were saying!

He'd never seen his brother so happy before. "You will find your own woman someday, Josiah. You just wait for it." The Alpha King teased the male. "I know you mean well, Alpha King, but I feel like you just placed some kind of curse on me," he actually shivered, revulsed at the thought of a mate, "I'll have to reject that curse. I don't think I wanna go all lovey-dovey for some woman out there."
