Novel & Cerita Homecoming Queen: Watch Her Take Control

Sarah hurriedly pressed the answer button and shot Adrian a look, signaling him to be quiet. “Hello?” On the other end of the line was her assistant, Clara, her voice brimming with urgency. “Sister Sarah, please come back right away! The CEO from headquarters has suddenly arrived, and we’re supposed to submit the contract as agreed!” Sarah’s expression turned serious, her pretty little face full of determination. “I’ll be back at the office right away. Wait for me!” Sarah hung up the phone and was just about to turn around to tell Adrian when he suddenly wrapped his arms around her from behind. He rested his chin possessively in the crook of her neck, his elegant jawline tickling her collarb

"Maybe if you quit watching her like a hawk, you could focus on yourself and actually enjoy it." I furrowed my brows. "I'm not watching her; why would you think that?" She raised a brow. I hugged myself, grumbling, "It's her first time here. If I don't, no one will." "No one is stealing her, Lily." "No offense, but I wouldn't know since it's her first time." She threw her head back, looking at me from under amused lashes. "And if that happens, what would you do? Put down everyone with a hidden skill."

The more people talked about her, the more attention she gained. People started defending her. They shared clips of her helping Jaxon after the injury. They pointed out that she never chased cameras or interviews. Some even called her loyal. Loyal?! The word makes me grind my teeth. Even with the proof sitting quietly in my phone I still cannot stand watching her popularity climb like this. Winning Homecoming Queen should be easy for me yet Hazel keeps appearing in every conversation like a stubborn stain. So I lean forward and tap the table once. “We’re doing this wrong,” I say.

But as Queen of all werewolves, surely, she is able to make such a promise? “I promise.” I sit up as straight as I could, and try to deliver my words with the promise that any Queen could bestow. “Very well.” She agreed. Setting her stick into the orange flames once more, sending up a torrent of embers into the air. “Then we shall begin…”

My body swings around and my hand reaches for the door handle. “Stop it!” she was getting good at controlling me. “What’s the problem?” she hisses at me, clear annoyance in her tone. “I am not a Queen!” “Yes we are. It is our birth right so get our butt back out there and act like it.” “Oh yeah Reaper, how am I supposed to act?”

Then, as if the previous conversation had never happened, her demeanor shifted entirely, suddenly animated by a topic she actually cared about. "It’s important you impress Mama tonight," she said after a pause that stretched a moment too long, her voice brightening with renewed purpose. "I want her to see us dancing together, at the very least." "But why does she need to see us dancing—" "Oh! There she is now," Hidi interrupted, steering him forcefully toward where the giant queen stood watching them from one of the refreshment tables. Her same shade of peridot colored eyes as Hidi’s was turning their way. The expression on her face was unreadable, a surprise considering how easy Hidi seemed

she whispered. “I know, kid,” Jake said, pulling them close. “But she’s coming back.” Kim nodded, eyes on the wall where the Queen had vanished. “And next time, she won’t come alone.” Jake stood, set his jaw, and keyed his comm. “Sorenson, this is Michaels. We’ve got contact with the Queen, confirmation on controller broadcast, and a live counter-signal.” Sorenson’s reply came flint-hard. “Copy, Michaels. Bring the girl in. We’re going hunting.”

Adam smirked. “You’re proud of her?” Rao asked with a grin. “She’s my queen as much as she’s yours. Her abilities are powerful and deadly. It may not seem like it on the surface. The way she chooses to use them will prove it, though. Look, she’s starting.” He pointed. My eyes quickly picked my little mate out of the crowd. She was standing, looking at Bryant. He was boasting. I could tell from his body language. Somethings didn’t change.

"We will find and get her back, but we can only do that if we are not fighting you. You need to stay with us and you need to stay in control. Can you do that Soren?" "Yes, as you wish, my Queen!" I reply, lowering my eyes and head in respect. She then moves her hand from my shoulder and onto my head, slightly moving her fingers in my hair, making me slowly relax. She then turns slightly and looks at someone in the doorway. SCARLETT POV
