I sat on the seat she had pulled out for me and she immediately took a seat beside me. "I saw on the news about your escapades?" Her smile was full of mystery. "Escapades?" I cocked a brow. "Oh, you know. . . " She shrugged. "Exceva!" I nodded, understanding flooding me. Exceva had been getting positive reviews ever since it's lunch a month ago. I didn't think it was going to stop anytime soon either. I cleared my throat and inclined my head. "Thanks, but you didn't have to go through all this trouble." I indicated at the spread in front of me. "What do we have here, anyway?"

About what it is to be the daughter of a man who trusted the truth more than he trusted his own safety. The book is reviewed in three national publications in the week of its release. Two of the reviews are the kind that a first-time author does not anticipate receiving — serious and specific and written by people who have read it rather than read about it. The third review is in a financial publication and is largely concerned with the Blackwood Holdings story as a corporate narrative, which is not the book I wrote. I read it with the equanimity of someone who has learned that not every reader is your reader and that this does not diminish the ones who are.
