Two days later, Susan's friends called to thank me. My earlier warning saved their businesses from the aftershock. They promised to back our company no matter what. When I asked about Ethan and Lily, one of them scoffed, "That girl offered herself to me for a ticket. I'm old enough to be her dad. What's wrong with her?" His disgust grew as he mentioned Ethan. "That guy said he could make do if I was into men. Crazy world." I stifled a laugh, and he continued, "After the aftershock, I haven't seen them. Lumora is a mess, with tons of stranded tourists. I asked around, but no one saw them. No clue if they're alive."

Right as Bianca moved to leave with Nathan, the system spoke again. "Top-up users must keep recharging. Fail, and you'll be pulled into the game. Bianca Horren recharged one hundred yesterday. Balance too low. Entering the game..." Bianca froze. She spun to run, but something yanked her back. The world snapped around her. She was inside again. "Mr. Cluny, save me! I'll die in here!" Nathan's eyes went cold. "You think I'd risk myself for a toy? Once you start topping up, you don't stop. The second you do, you get dragged in. You stabbed the one who helped you. Why would I risk anything for someone like you?"

She had barely gotten the words out of her mouth before we heard Dan bellowing "God Damn it to HELL! SHIT! DAMN! FUCK!" Now, Dan's a little guy, about 5'4, and pretty quiet most of the time. He'd shaved his head to look a little older, which made him look like a short bald 8th grader. He almost never cursed, but he was certainly making up for it on this trip.

He pointed his hand towards a very drunk Jason that was sitting on the barstool, still drinking! “No VIP section?” I asked Jackson in sarcasm. “I don’t know.” He said and handed me Jason’s phone.
