Shadow raised her head to smell it, her big brown eyes curious, but upon finding it to be nothing other than frustrating ideas, she resettled. It had seemed so easy at first glance. The pack house had a large library on the second floor that I had only visited a few times. After dinner, when most people were relaxing in the common areas, I slipped upstairs to see what I could find. The library was quiet and dimly lit, with tall shelves filled with books about werewolf history, pack records, and various other topics. I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for, but I hoped I might find some reference to Seraphina or the attack that killed her. I started with the pack records, looking for any mentions of events from five years ago. Most of the books were dry accounts of territory disputes, trade agreements and pack meetings.

I needed to cut her off. "Look, they're doing the walking around the fire thing." She said. I hummed non committal. "I read about it in this book by Drethi Anis. Five thousand nights of obsession. The book was so good." "You read?" I asked. I had never seen any book in her apartment or caught her with a book. "Yes." She blushed, then quietly. "Romance books." "You don't strike me as the romance type." I looked at her intently. "Is it one of those raunchy books with shirtless men carrying scabbards on the cover."

Or that they at least, got the wrong impression of her. “They think I don’t like romance?” She asked like there was someone else in the room with her. “Well, I bet they’ve never even messed around with any guy before. They’ve probably never even gotten kissed by a hot guy before and I’m the unromantic one?” “Otherwise they wouldn’t shut up about it. Mila thought this place had a tower of its own, because far up there, she could see the curtains covering the large windows that surrounded the spire. But she did not realize how quickly it could turn into nighttime. "The sun was up just a moment ago," she whispered. "Seconds ago, actually. Why is it slowly turning nighttime already? This is too--" her whole body jolted as a book popped out right in front of her. It glowed, as if inviting Verena to open the pages under the moon that is slowly coming up to its place. "The cursed book," she whispered. "Why the hell is this here? How could this book follow me in my dream?" "Am I draping or is this..."

His fingers pulled out of me much to my complaint. Our eyes locked and all I could see was a desperate hunger in his eyes. He pulled down my dress exposing my breasts.
