Beside me, my father moved like a ghost, his touches causing the Alpha-Variants to collapse as if their nervous systems had been unplugged. We reached the base of the massive antenna. A man stood there, holding a tablet. He looked like any other executive, but the coldness in his eyes was ancient. "The King and the Queen," he said, smiling. "A family reunion at the end of the world. You’re too late. The sequence is locked. In sixty seconds, the world becomes silent." He pressed a final icon on the screen. A low hum began to vibrate through the very steel of the building. My ears began to bleed.

Then: "Tell me you heard that." Adrian's expression had gone pale. Very pale. Then: "I heard it." The answer didn't help. Not even a little. Then the radio came back to life. For one final second. One final message. A whisper. Barely audible. Yet both of them heard it perfectly. "It's not the monster." The signal vanished. The radio died. And somewhere far beyond the mountains— the First Door began to open wider.

He makes a series of pitiful wet and slick sounds and finally, his eyes roll to the back of his head. Nox the tormentor is finally dead. The horn blares three times and a shout can be heard, “The victor is Beta Laurel Moon!” Caleb is the first to leap to his feet. He does a fist pump and the crowd goes wild. ***** Evening comes and the blazing sun sinks beneath the horizon. From the grandstand, I see the pack who have all gathered at the square. Hushed whispers blanket the crowd but I can no longer hear what they say, Diego’s potion has stopped working.

But I haven't think of anything yet when I heard that familiar annoying voice again. I never thought that I'll be glad to hear it but when its words registered, the only thing I want to do right now is to dribble that piece of the ball, smash it on the wall and squeeze it harder than the last time. "Can you repeat what you just said?" I want to kill it. I already have an idea who was in front of me but hearing it personally hits differently. "Host! The target of the mission appears. Monarch of the Underworld, Azrael."
