Garry said. "Same thing I have been asking him," Chase said as he stood up and motioned for Garry to sit which the latter did. Even though the three were best of friends they still respected each other, Chase was the youngest among them while Garry was the oldest. Chase got another chair and sat down. "Is it because of your parents?" Garry asked he sighed looking at his best friend who looked miserable "Kaiden, everyone will die one day, you have to be a man about it and besides, it had been years since your parents died" He said.

(Ten years later) Amethyst (POV) “Come on kids, you’re going to be late for school.” I say from the bottom of the stairs. Chase had a lovely home built for us close to the Packhouse. This gives us our own place to raise our pups. I am again pregnant with our fourth pup and our third another son Caleb is on the living room floor coloring as he is only four and too young for school. I am due any day now and found out it is another daughter. We plan to name her Carol. May as well stick to C names. Chase loves it as his name begins with a C. It wasn’t planned that way at first it just happened when Caleb was born.

CHAPTER SEVEN CHASE'S POV I watched the clock strike midnight, today was a big day, Chris and Crystal were turning ten. It was so surreal, I almost couldn't believe the twins were in Year 5 now. They were growing rapidly. I was only twenty-one when they came into my life. They were only two years old then and I didn't want kids, especially with the way my musical career was growing. I didn't think I'd ever want them, but after taking them in, I just couldn't help, but accept them as my children.

Hunter. I cut the call with Rio tersely, not caring about whatever shit he's saying. Lowering the phone in my hand, I walk toward the chest in my second parlor, picking up one of the portraits on it. His portrait. Chase. He was only ten in the picture with the brightest smile you could ever see on a boy his age. His innocent appearance never ceases to thaw my heart. Chase has always been innocent, untouched, until darkness came upon us.

Chase pointed at him, “Do you have a wife now? You disloyal bastard. Are you giving up on my younger sister?” Elliot stared at him. “I’d like to wait for her, so tell me. Where is your younger sister?” Chase said, “Don’t you know that I’m looking for her?” Elliot replied, “You’ve been at it for nineteen years.” Chase retorted, “What’s wrong with that? I’ll definitely find her. I’ll fast for the rest of my life if that’s what it takes to find her. Otherwise, I’ll never know peace.

For someone his age, Chase really did look like a kid. "How dare you take my golden rat? Who gave you the guts?" Chase shot back without the slightest politeness. Constantin's heart sank.

“Fine, fine. Don’t be mad. I’m here to tell you something. My grandpa will be celebrating his 80th birthday tomorrow night. Do me the honor of attending the celebration.” Chase took an invitation card and placed it on the table. Shaun’s brows furrowed. Quite a number of people were celebrating their 80th birthday in Melbourne recently. “By the way, you’d better bring your partner,” Chase reminded. “As you know, my sister has been interested in you for years. Also, my grandpa has always wanted to set my sister up with you.” Shaun rubbed his forehead, wondering who he should bring as his partner. Catherine?

I find myself nodding along, no question in my mind that I’m ready to go fight beside my man. “Hell, I’ll go fight,” comes a voice from behind us. I crane my neck to look over my shoulder, spotting a younger guy as he walks into the room. I’ve never seen him before, but I can only assume that it’s Alpha Vaughn’s son, Chase. For a high school senior, the kid is huge- tall, broad, and bulky with muscle. It’d be startling if I didn’t grow up around alphas and know that they tend to be physically larger than average. He’s definitely got the cocky swagger of an alpha as he enters the room, looking around at everyone gathered.

"And who is going to watch your back Chase?" He seemed taken aback by the question. I guess no one had ever questioned his abilities before. I didn't even know if Chase had any supernatural capabilities of his own. I had just assumed he did because he and Liam had been friends for a long time and Liam is one hundred thirty-five years old. "Chase is more than capable of taking care of himself and Wendy," Liam cut in. "What exactly are you Chase? I have never asked before because I didn't want to be rude. I have no doubt that you would die for her, but I do not want either one of you to die, especially not for my benefit."
