How To Get A Book Deal Novels & Stories

Lisa took a breath and cleared her throat, searching for something to talk about in her lust-fogged brain. “I forgot to tell you,” she said after taking another sip of her wine. “Hmm?” Mason looked at her, his eyes dark and humorous. “My publisher loves the early drafts of my novel and has offered me a five-book deal.” His eyes lit with approval and he smiled proudly at her giving her a warm squishy feeling in her stomach. “That’s great,” he said. “When do I get to read it?” “Oh.” She had never even thought about letting him read it. She’d never had someone in her life who was interested enough in her or who she trusted enough to tell them about her other life and so had never had anyone ask

She provided honest opinions before handing them to Camila for editing. "Your story fits the anthology series type, a genre receiving positive feedback on major platforms," Lily said, smiling at Maisie. "While you might not match the major authors in the company, you've built a loyal fan base! It's the perfect time to publish the book." "Yes, that's right!" Rachael exclaimed. "Send me some candid photos of yourself, Ms. Squire. I'll post them on your personal account and leverage personal media to gain fans! We'll present you as the attractive writer!"

"It's about time! He was a menace!" "Yeah," Elena shrugged. "Tell me about your meeting!" Liz swiveled on the couch to sit cross-legged facing Elena. "Oh my God! They were so nice! And loved my books. They want to publish all three and introduced me to the editor I'll be working with to iron out some of the kinks in the story!" "I told you they would love you and your books!" Elena looked at Liz wth adoring pride. "How much did they offer?"

"So, what's the move? We didn't gather here just to gossip about your husband’s latest hit list, did we?" I set my glass down on the table with a decisive thud. "No. We're done playing small. We’ve been writing in the shadows long enough. It’s time we signed with a real publishing house. A big one." The table went dead silent for a heartbeat. "You mean..." one of the girls started, her eyes wide. "I mean New York," I interrupted, my voice steady. "I’m talking about a major deal, book signings, and seeing our names on the Best Sellers list. Not just 'online famous.' I want the world to see us."

I have a hard time not watching him move around the suite, getting dressed, but when he sends me a stern look, my pussy clenches and I look back to the paper. Okay, the steps to getting my business up and running. Great question. I start the list. Make a website, contact merchandisers for discounts, advertise. Where to advertise? F******k. I*******m. My P*******t page has a million followers, so that’s a great place. What else? Develop a pricing structure. Get some media coverage in national magazines. That’s gonna be hard, but I believe anything’s possible. I’ve made dream boards before. I had Ibiza on one and now I’m here.

“I have some ideas for a good story..” Dawn smiled. “How about you start writing it first and I’ll give you pointers?” “Can’t I just write how I want to?” Dawn leaned back. “Actually, you can write however you want. But if you want your book to be published and be sold in stores, you have to make it really good so that when you submit your book to a publishing company, they will take an interest in it and offer a contract with you. They will give you the amount of money they think they would be able to earn from your book.”

She sounded proud of herself. She clicked open the first email. It was from HearthStone Publishing, one of the top three traditional publishing houses in the country. I read the first paragraph and felt my pulse spike. They wanted to offer me a three-book deal. The next email was from River&Reed Books. Another top house. Their advance figure made me blink twice. Then Elmline, Tuned Pages, Balmer Press, and four others. Leah was grinning like she had just won a national lottery on my behalf. “They’re fighting for you, Aria. This is insane.”

The room looks so pretty and I note it down to ask Clark for his interior decorators number if he’s willing to share as I plan on redesigning my office. Taking a seat on the sofa, I bring out my laptop to review some contracts sent by my personal assistant, before signing the contract and sending it back to my PA to start the process. With book promotions, the earlier you start, the better it is for the book’s popularity and increase in sales generated.

“So, how does all of that sound to you, Miss Wickham?” I look between Devin and the author, and I can already see the wheels in her head turning. She’s considering it. Well, of course, she would. We’re offering her every author’s dream on a platinum platter. I take a moment to study her. Pale blue eyes, creamy white skin, wild curly copper hair. Gosh, I can imagine how hard it must be to maintain those frizzy curls. “I can promise you that you won’t ever get an offer this good anywhere else. Publishing your book independently is great, but only if you have good background knowledge of how to market your book, so it reaches the right audience. And that’s where we excel, Miss Wickham. We’re t

“I don’t know for sure if we can get you on that soon, but you have to be ready. Keep your cell on you at all times in case there’s an opening.” “But, my things are still upstate at the cabin. I was planning to go back there tomorrow,” and see Alex. “That’s fine. You go pack up. We’ll get things started first thing Wednesday. We also need you to sign this,” Peter handed her a new set of contracts. “What’s this?” Rachel began reading. “It’s a four book commitment. We never sign an author on only one book. If this one is a bestseller, we want to be sure you don’t jump to another publisher.”
