His hand rested over my stomach, tracing lazy circles. “I want to keep playing sometimes,” he murmured into my hair. “Keep the edge sharp. Keep the fantasy alive.” I smiled, sated and owned and stupidly happy. “Every anniversary,” I whispered. “And maybe… some random Tuesdays.” He laughed soft, warm, real. Then quieter: “And if we ever decide to add to the family… we’ll tell them the truth when they’re old enough. That their mother and father chose each other against the whole damn world. That the fantasy became real.”

She pleaded, fiddling with her fingers nervously. “Why? You're very beautiful and you've got great fashion sense. I still think this is your opportunity.” Karen tried to woo her, but she didn't budge. She walked out of Karen's office few minutes later, and Karen opened her laptop and started working. She knew owning a fashion magazine brand was a very big project that needed great financing so she decided to start small. She would start by launching twice a month that would cover only Los Angeles and California. She was hoping to get sponsors and investors that would help her expansion.

“Alright. Talk to me.” I stare at the ocean for a moment, then the words spill out before I overthink them. “I want to start anfashion house and a publishing firm.” Cassain turns his head. Aretha tilts her head. “Are you sure?” “I am" I say. Silence. Then Aretha blinks. “…Then let's get started.” Cassain frowns slightly. “Will you let me get involved even a little bit?" I nod. “No Cass. I’m tired of everything happening to me. I want something that’s mine. Something creative. Something that doesn’t revolve around mates, councils, kings, or accelerated children who quote statistics at me.”
