Writing A Fantasy Novel Novels & Stories

Once she’s finished, she goes to take a shower before sitting on the chair by her study table. Taking out a notebook and pencil, she began to write possible plots for her book. She leaned back against the chair thinking of how ironic it is. She was an author and now she’s living as a teenager again. ‘Rebirth. Time Travel...Magic? Maybe a little romance?’ ‘Alright. I could start on that.’ With a pen on hand, she began to create a world where magic existed. She took inspiration from her own experience and wrote how she came to be in the girl’s body and in this time.

And maybe in the end I'll succeed. The ideas have never stopped flowing, and amidst the difficulties, I've gathered them together to tell even more stories. I have a notebook full of ideas, story segments just waiting for the right piece to fit into. I've conceived many new universes. I have a love story planned that I hope will make your heart skip a beat, between two young people wounded by the world. A horror story that I hope will take your breath away, with its demons. A fantasy that I hope will transport you to a world of mysterious creatures and strange rites.

Ah, I've been waiting for that question since earlier. "I'm glad you asked. You see, this is the real world. Reality. But what you're living in could be called another world, but a different world where people from the real world such as us, create plots and characters to our own liking. That is what we call a book, or a novel. We read it but you get to live a life in that world of yours with your own thoughts, dreams, ideals, ambition, interests and actions, but it will all follow according to the Author's plot. And if the story is finished, I'm not sure what happens next. And the world you are living in is called 'Endless Poison Love', its a fantasy-romance novel." I explained.

Randy said. I snorted and reclined on the bed. "I don't know why my main readership is male, and they've requested me to write harem. But if one of the female leads were me, I'd report the male lead for bigamy!" Randy chuckled, "Skr, ruthless!" Having spent significant time with Randy, his delayed graduation had its merits. He stumbled upon my forgotten novels, and his favorite happened to be the one I wrote years ago. The sky, previously murky, suddenly turned pitch black as heavy clouds loomed. The shelter's lights had long ceased to function.

I ask. He laughs out. “I can assure and all my readers there’s no Mrs. Rodgers hiding anywhere.” I smile writing it down. “Have you ever thought of writing anything but Fantasy?” I ask. He smiles. “Funny you should ask. I started out as a romance author. Under a different pen name of course, but I was reading more and more fantasy manga’s and I fell in love with fantasy. As they say men are terrible at writing romance.” He jokes. I narrow my eyes at him. He might write fantasy, but his books always have a hint of romance to it.

Recently, her ghostwriting was all set in modern times, which she had grown weary of. Therefore, she decided to set her new story in a fictional ancient backdrop. The story was straightforward: Wars raged, with large empires consuming smaller ones. Amidst the chaos, a princess of a fallen kingdom, Nora, relying on her charisma and exceptional abilities, garnered a group of loyal followers and embarked on a mission to reclaim her homeland. “Make it a good one.” “Oh, I shall!” it chittered, and with a flourish, it conjured a new narrative pocket in our world. This one wasn't tiny. It was a full-scale, shimmering mirage that overlay a corner of the garden. It depicted a classic, sweeping fantasy epic—knights, dragons, a quest for a glowing mcguffin. But something was off. The knight kept tripping over his own cloak. The dragon was afraid of heights. The glowing mcguffin was just a very persuasive lightbulb.

Heat poured into me from that mug, but nothing compared to the waves rolling through me when he closed the door, I almond choked on my coffee. He didn’t sit. Instead, he perched on the corner of my desk, he was so close I could feel the tension radiate. His gaze darkened when he saw the blank document on the screen. “You planning to start today?” he asked softly. I swallowed. “It’s the outline phase.” “Use urgency. Make me real.” “I’m not writing a fantasy,” I replied, tapping the outline. He traced a finger down the edge of the desk until it touched the glass. “Fantasy is just power whispered in the dark.”

“What can we expect in that story?” “Is Sindy Kate really gone?” The questions continued, and I was like a deer caught in the headlight. My teeth started to tatter, and the flashes were blinding me. I swallowed all my nerves and smiled. “Yes, I am writing a novel. It’s fiction but inspired by my life experience. I want to inspire all the women out there, in all walks of life, that it is okay to dream high, not to give up when things get tough. I want to show them that I may be born into a privileged family, but life isn’t always perfect.”

Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.
