Hunter was watching him intently—it seemed he hadn’t revealed this nugget of information to anyone else just yet. “Caleb did find something… a rumour where a witch was cursed by the gods for pulling beasts from hell into our world.” I swallowed, taking another drag as I wracked my brain, trying to think if I had read or heard any of those stories.

My voice cracked on the words because I was certain that he did love me. Confusion marred her perfect features. “Is he sick?” Because truly, that would be the only other problem. “He's cursed.” I blurted out. “Cursed?” She sounded disbelieving. “Yes, cursed.” I spent the next few minutes explaining Brian's curse, his age, the death of his prior mates, and the future event of my possible death.
