I went still. Cold clarity swallowed me whole. Rage—not mine—rose from deep inside. A presence older than Elara. Darker. The Curse. Miguma. I surrendered. My eyes opened underwater. They were no longer honey brown. They were pitch black. The sky above cracked open with thunder. Lightening tore across the desert— And rain—impossible, slicing rain—fell like shards of glass. Melody jerked back from the waters edge, eyes wide. “What—what’s that?!”

It was pictures of some of the different Cursed that we had captured. “Oh, this again.” She frowned and clicked her tongue. This again? What did she mean by that?

"Eurydice, the creature you and Alcides encountered in the woods, the Furion Panther, is no ordinary beast. It is a cursed creature with a history of darkness and misfortune." Eurydice, her eyes filled with a mixture of relief and curiosity, listened intently as Corvus continued. "The Furion Panther was once a majestic and noble creature, known for its beauty and grace. But it fell victim to a dark curse, one that twisted it into a creature of malevolence and rage." Corvus explained that the Furion Panther's curse was the result of a tragic event, one that had cast a shadow over its existence. He revealed the creature's history, a tale of betrayal and suffering that had led it down a path of

I carried the journals to a clear spot and sat cross-legged on the concrete floor, my phone's flashlight providing light for me as I started going through the pages one after the other. The first two journals were filled with basic healing procedures, but it was the third journal, when I started seeing things I was looking for. A page was titled On the Nature of Curses, and Ways To Break Them. I flipped through pages of diagrams and notes, descriptions of different curse types and their signatures. Blood curses. Bone curses. Soul curses. Each one more dangerous than the last. I was deep into a reading about blood curses when my phone rang unexpectedly. I took a look at the caller ID ready to

The Cruk raised his hand to hit Curl with it's claws, and as it swinged it's hand, Curl grabbed it, and stood up. "Enough!" Growled Curl, and as he took out the Cruk's hand out of the way, he raged and used his claws to make a mess on the Cruk. The Cruk howled in pain and was unable to stop Curl, because he was too fast, and scratching the body of the Cruk like it was all he had to do with his life, without composure, without lane, without stopping, he kept tearing the Cruk's skin, and as he did, he growled more, got stronger, something was changing, the blood of the Cruk was all over his hands, all over his claws, and all over his face, he couldn't stop and wouldn't stop, the Cruk wasn't di

Suri looked at Rustin in shock, asking, "Is what Mr. Hart said true?" Esther calmly explained, "Cursing is a form of witchcraft. Since the Witchcraft Uprising, cursing has gradually been marginalized and eventually found its way to Saffronesia. Nowadays, only Saffronesians practice cursing." Suri instantly understood everything. Just a few months ago, someone from Lumigen approached Suri, proposing to invest in Glory Investment Group. Without hesitation, Suri rejected them on the spot. It was after that negotiation that Suri started having nightmares.

"We have identified three more curse attacks in the past week, all targeting young supernatural beings in remote locations." Lucas stood at the front of the war room two weeks after Chris's attack, pointing at red marks on the regional map. Each mark represented a curse victim, and the pattern was becoming clearer. Someone was testing their adaptive curses on isolated targets who would not have immediate access to advanced healing. "Are the victims surviving?" I asked, though I already knew the answer from Lucas's grim expression.

he walked ahead without waiting for a reply. “Wait,” I grabbed his arm, glaring. “I need answers not an exorcism.” “What do you want to know?” “I want to know if there is a way to break the curse on the redcursed. Also, about if there is another type of curse that fed of the non-human in Dotoria.” “Very well. Until now, there no cure for the curse and there is no other curse than the one on the redcursed. Dotoria is a land protecting the humans. Now that you got your answer, you can leave. It happens we are waiting for an important visitor.”

I stop abruptly and the man stops with me, his hand grabbing my arm and pulling me close. "Did not think someone like you would be this shy-" he traces my face with the back of his fingers and I slap his hand away from my face, shaking lightly. "Someone like me?!" I hiss between my teeth and it seems that my rage only fuels something within the man as he smirks at me, showing off his disgustingly yellow teeth. Up close, Father Cassimir is even more disgusting. Maybe if he took better care of himself... no! It was a matter of the heart! his heart was tainted and no amount of water and soap would wash that away!
