Novel's POV It had been two days since I left Alexei's house. I missed my time there; it was fun, and I got to spend quality time with him, even if he was always busy. I was browsing through my phone when I came across an article. The title read: The Human Animals. “What a funny title,” I laughed, but my curiosity made me click anyway. It featured a picture of a creature that looked half-wolf and half-human. “Interesting,” I said to myself as I read the text:

Alexander A flood of relief washes over me. He did not leave. He still wants me. However, there was a problem. If I ring the bell, won’t it be a slave that will have to attend to me. Something about having another human, one of my kind, waiting on me made me very uncomfortable. But I had no choice. Alex had torn my maid outfit the night before and there is no way I can remain nude. I will just kindly tell them to help me with a new outfit and they will be on their way. Finally finding the courage, I ring the bell that was placed on the dresser and before I could even drop the bell, the head slave walks in with her head bowed.

My eyes landed on books, portions, maps, carved objects and barrels that contained pepper red substances. “What’s this place?” I curiously asked. “We call it the dark room, it contains everything you need to know about Shadowclaw. The book over there is yours to read. It will give you instructions on how to help him.” He answered. I picked the book which was titled ‘LUNA’ and walked out.

June looked at Ian with confused eyes. "Do you know humans are greedy?" Ian mumbled, watching June while his dark eyes were brewing an unhidden storm. When June said nothing, Ian leaned towards June's face, they were now nose to nose. "The more they get, the more they want," Ian huskily mumbled. June shuddered at Ian's hot breath fanning his lips and chin. His legs started feeling shaky so he raised his hands and held onto either side of Ian's board shoulders.

Chris noticed the shocked expressions coming from Francis. “What are you reading there that’s so interesting?” Chris asked. “Here, see for yourself. Look at the project overview, then look at the last page,” said Francis, handing Chris the file behind his back. Chris looked at the cover of the file. [Project Humanity’s Last Resort]. As instructed, he flipped to the last page of records.
