He shifted closer, his breath whispering against her ear.
"Veda?"
His voice was low, husky as he spoke to her.
Veda's hands paused, her hair still wrapped in the dhuni's warmth. For an instant, she froze.
Then, she resumed drying her hair, her movements steady.
No response.
No acknowledgement.
Adyant's eyes flashed with frustration.
What has happened to her?
Why didn't she care anymore?
He watched, transfixed, as Veda continued her ritual, oblivious to his presence. As if he was some sort of stranger who didn't matter to her anymore.
