“Yоu need to look аt thіѕ, nоw.” I рull оut my іPаd, tуре іn mу раѕѕwоrd, and tар up a photo file оf a kidnapping victim whо was found dоwntоwn lаѕt month. The рісturеѕ аrе gоrу.

I saw a note peeking out from under one of the pictures, so I picked it up and read it. 'Poor you, seems like your secret is out and your time is up. I'm going to have a lot of fun tonight, watching you. Tick-tock. P.S; You have until tonight to tell him, or I will.'

my love. '' It was long but seeing your face made it better.'' ''How was your day.'' '' It wasn't that Interesting.''

Her pillow was at the foot of the bed and her phone at the head. I grabbed her phone, already knowing her password to unlock it. Taking a seat at the edge of the bed, I clicked on the gallery app and went straight to the folder labeled 'Gracey and I' with a pink heart emoji at the end. The folder had thousands of pictures of us. I tapped onto a picture from not to long ago; the day Xander had followed us around like a lost puppy.

“That girl was a solution! You need to stop sabotaging this!” “The only solution I need is one that doesn’t make me want to claw my own eyes out. Next.” The last girl scurries out like she’d rather be anywhere but listening to our back-and-forths. For an agonizing long second, it’s just the two of us and the hum of Lewis Capaldi crooning “Someone You Loved” from the corner speaker. The irony isn’t lost on me.

Danny POV I whispered halfheartedly, “I’m number 7 in the Paradise Cove Trailer court.” I leaned back in my seat. Biscuit laid his big block head on my lap as the truck fired up again. I let my eyes close. My mind began whirling, I saw colors all mixed together they kept spinning faster and faster. “Make it stop,” I pleaded. It was making me dizzy. A vortex of faces and voices came out of the whirling colors. I couldn’t see any one in particular, only that there were many. They were crying and scared. Their combined voices got louder and louder until it sounded like howling and I thought my head would split from the sound. Then everything went black and it all stopped.

PLAYING MOONLIGHT SONATA I came to a halt because of a sound that seemed to pull me somewhere. I followed the sound, and it led me to the hall, in which I barely pulled back the curtain to see who made the sound and where it came from. There, I saw Prince Augustus playing the piano. I didn't realize he could also play the piano. His face matched his sad demeanor as he played. Why is it so difficult for me to read your mind? I'm curious why you're being like this, why your life appears to be sad even though you have everything.

I tried to calm her. “NO!. Stop, don’t touch me.” She screamed. I was scared and released her; Penny skittered across the bed leaving a gap between us. She turned to look back at me, she must have thought I was attacking her. Her eyes were blank and glazed over, she didn’t see me not the real me, she wasn’t looking passed me through me like I was someone else. She saw someone else.

I was confident she would rather never see Minnie again. Minnie and I watched silently as Christian pulled out his phone and dialed my number. Eloise had thrown away my SIM card and phone long ago. No matter how many times he called, the result would be the same. How could a dead person answer the phone? When the call went unanswered, Christian furiously began typing a text to me. Christian: [Rachel, bring Minnie back immediately! Do you think I won't find her if you take her away? Try me. I'll make sure you never see her again!]

"What are you looking at?" I jerked my head up in surprise. I was lying on the floor in Piper's kitchen, sprawled out on the cool tiles because the couch had started to feel too stuffy in the Floridan heat. Piper was standing at the stove, turning away from the pot she'd been stirring to squint at me suspiciously. "Just checking messages on our engineering group chat," I said quickly, locking my phone screen. "Mm hmm." She gave me a wry look. "You'd better not be talking to Hockey Boy."
