She’s breathing painfully, her voice trembling as she finishes the song.
“You remember this song, right, Alex?” her voice breaks as she speaks to the grave, her words drenched in sorrow. “You sang it to me on my graduation day. Mom and Dad couldn’t make it—they were too busy with paying deir debts for your treatments, even though you told them not to. You promised you’d always be there... You were supposed to be here, Alex. You promised you’d fight. But you left me here, alone. Can I be strong enough for both of us?”
